Dr. Wells is a specialist in the profession of orthodontics and facial orthopedics. He attended dental school at the University of Louisville. There he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 1996. After a year of further training in a hospital setting, Dr. Wells completed his AEGD Residency and was accepted into the Orthodontic Residency Program. In 1999, Dr. Wells was awarded his orthodontic specialty certificate at the University of Louisville, College of Dentistry.
Staying on top of the scientific advancements in dento-facial orthopedics is a priority for Dr. Wells. He continues to pursue excellence in his specialty and consistently exceeds the requirements for continuing education each year by making it a priority to learn from the leaders in his profession. Dr. Tony Wells recently lectured to the Seattle Study Club and other programs in the region.
He currently serves as a voting delegate to the Indiana Dental Association and is an active member of both the American Association of Orthodontists and the Southern Association of Orthodontists. Most recently, Dr. Wells completed his term as President of the First District Dental Society, the tri-state's dental society. Dr. Wells also plays a very active roll in the Western Kentucky Orthodontic Study Group. In addition, he is a member of the American Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association, the University of Louisville Orthodontic Alumni Association and the Seattle Study Club.
On a personal note, Dr. Wells is married to Crunchy Wells, also a dentist. They have two children, Rieser and Abbey. Tony and Crunchy spend the majority of their free time with their children’s activities and numerous volunteer responsibilities in the tri-state.
